How Choice-Fill & My College Hub work together

Predictors show what you might get. This studio helps you decide the order you fill on JoSAA. My College Hub keeps everything saved so you and your parents can revisit later.

What is Choice-Fill?

During JoSAA counselling you submit an ordered list of institute + branch options. Seat allotment walks your list from #1 downward until a seat matches your rank and category.

What do Safe / Moderate / Reach mean?

Safe = comfortably inside recent closing ranks. Moderate = near the edge. Ambitious / Reach = dream picks. A healthy list has many Safes, some Moderates, and a few dream rows — not only CSE at top NITs.

What is My College Hub?

Your saved colleges, last predictor run, and this preference list in one place. Save colleges from explorer cards, share a shortlist link with parents, then jump back here to refine order.

Suggested workflow

  1. 1

Run this studio with your expected rank / percentile

Build a first draft preference list in under a minute.

  2. 2

Open Cutoff Intelligence on any college

Check multi-year closing ranks before you trust a “Safe” tag.

  3. 3

Save colleges you like to My College Hub

Use Save on explorer cards or college profiles, then compare side by side.

  4. 4

Smart Sort, then drag your true favourites upward

Keep Safes early enough that a cutoff jump doesn’t leave you empty-handed.

  5. 5

Export / copy into JoSAA when counselling opens

Always verify on josaa.nic.in — College1st is a planning tool, not allotment.

JoSAA vs CSAB (simple)

  • JoSAA — main counselling for IITs (Advanced) and NIT+ (Main).
  • CSAB — special rounds for leftover NIT+ seats after JoSAA ends.
  • Use the same list style for both; CSAB often needs more Safes.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Only filling 5–10 dream CSE options
  • Putting all Safes at the very bottom
  • Ignoring home-state (HS) quota for NITs
  • Locking without checking the latest mock allotment
